What is Golden Carpet?
Golden Carpet is a recurring autism community platform created by Sunflower Institute for Autism to bring together parents, professionals, educators, caregivers, and advocates through open conversations, shared experiences, practical learning, and meaningful connection.
More than a formal event or seminar, Golden Carpet is a safe and growing space where real voices are heard, experiences are valued, and support becomes more visible, connected, and human.

Why Spaces Like This Matter
Autism journeys are often filled with questions, uncertainty, learning, and experiences that families carry quietly for years. Golden Carpet exists to create a space where those experiences can be shared openly, understood deeply, and supported collectively.

Connected & Real
Golden Carpet brings together experiences, perspectives, and support into one visible and human-centered community space.

I am truly grateful to have experienced the incredible work of Sunflower. Programs like Golden Carpet beautifully reflect their vision of building a strong, compassionate community where every child and every parent feels valued and heard. Impressed with team’s professionalism, hard work and dedication.

I had never attended an event exactly like this before and have only attended a similar event once before. It was highly informative and gave me a clear understanding of many practical aspects. The discussions and shared experiences provided valuable guidance that I can apply in real-life situations.

Understanding autism begins with listening. Listening to parents, professionals, and most importantly, to the unique voices and experiences of autistic individuals.
Dr. Ayasha Shrestha
The event was very helpful. We learned a lot from other parents’ experiences, the more we hear, the more we understand. Theme-based discussions could make it even more valuable. While we usually communicate with parents in our own area, Golden Carpet gave us the opportunity to connect with parents from other areas as well, broadening our perspective and support network.
Khilendra Gurung
This type of event is incredibly important for parents. Many families don’t have easy access to services, and discussions like these provide valuable guidance, helping them understand how to manage situations effectively in the meantime.

"Golden Carpet is about creating space — for voices, for learning, for connection. Because support does not grow in isolation. It grows when people come together."
